Making Dad smile

Thai culture is so wonderful and different from the rest of the places I have been. Thai people have a special characteristic, they smile all the time! This country is known as “The land of smiles”, and definitly the people smile, no matter who you are or where are you from.

This special personality of thai people, makes me think of the personailty of a father when he sees his son or daughter doing something pleasing, his child has gotten his favor… my earthly father smiles when sees something in me that makes him feel proud to be called my “dad”… these questions come to my mind: Am I making Dad smile when He looks at me? Am I looking to draw a smile from His face? How many smiles have I drawn from His face today?

Honestly, many times I forget how important it is to draw a smile from our Father’s face,  what am I doing that makes Him feel proud of being called my “dad”? I haven’t left to be what I am since I was born… a reflexion of his genes, that I look like Him, that I walk like Him, that I use His words when I talk, that He can recognize His influence in me when He looks me taking decisions in my routine life.

That’s how He can do the extraordinary in the ordinary me, when I decide to go back to my original identity, my identity that looks like Him, it’s like a little girl doing something and turning to look at her Dad’s smiling face, because she knows she has gotten her Dad’s favor…

Sometimes it’s easy to forget what is truly important… we are His children, and He always will smile like a good father giving the best to His kids…

The only question coming to my mind in this moment is, Am I drawing a smile to Dad’s face with my life? If not, I need to concider if I’m loosing my purpose of existence on this earth…
